Observation of effect of montelukast in the treatment of patients with cough variation asthma

Objective To observe the curative effect of montelukast in the treatment of patients with cough variation asthma.Methods 96 patients with cough variation asthma were randomly divided into three groups.The group A was treated with montelukast orally 10mg once a day.The group B was given the inhalation of Salmeterol and Fluticasone(50 μg/250 μg) twice a day at morning and night.Besides,the group B was given montelukast 10 mg once a day.The group C inhaled Salmeterol and Fluticasone(50 μg/250 μg) twice a day at morning and night.The total treatment course was 8 weeks.The effect and the lung function were estimated and compared among the three groups before and 8 weeks after the treatment.Results The effect and the lung function of the three groups were all improved after the treatment(P0.05).The improvement of curative effect and lung function was more pronounced in the group B than in the rest two groups(P0.05).There was no obvious difference between the group A and the group C.Conclusion Montelukast can improve the pulmonary function and clinic symptom of CVA patients.Montelukast combined with Salmeterol and Fluticasone has a better curative effect in the treatment of CAV patients.
