Significance of IGFBP-2 Protein Expression in Human Gastric Carcinoma with metastasis of Lymph Node

Objective:To investigate the expression of IGFBP-2 protein in gastric cancer tissues with metastasis of lymph node.Methods:The immunohistochemical expression of IGFBP-2 protein was measured by image analysis in 35 surgically resected specimens of gastric cancer(include normal mucosae,primary tumors and metastases of lymph node).Results:The expression of IGFBP-2 protein in gastric primary tumor tissues was significantly higher than that in normal mucosae (P0.01).The significantly down-regulation was observed in lymphatic metastases compared with primary tumors (P0.01).No statistical difference was observed between normal mucosae and lymphatic metastases (P0.05).Conclusion:The expression of IGFBP-2 protein was positively correlated with invasion,progression of gastric cancer cell,but negatively correlated with lymphatic metastasis of gastric cancer.It might play an important role in invasion and progression of gastric cancer.
