Study on the Action of IGFBP-2 Protein in Human Gastric Carcinoma Peritoneal Metastasis

Abstract
Objective:To study the expression of IGFBP-2 protein in gastric cancer peritoneal metastasis tissues.Methods: The immunohistochemical expression of IGFBP-2 protein was measured by image analysis in 35 surgically resected specimens of gastric cancer(include normal mucosa,primary tumors and peritoneal metastases).Results: The expression of IGFBP-2 protein in gastric primary tumor tissues was significantly higher than that in normal mucosa(P0.05).The significantly down-regulation was observed in the peritoneal metastases,compared with primary tumors(P0.05).No statistical difference was observed between normal mucosa and the expression of IGFBP-2 in gastric carcinoma peritoneal metastases(P0.05).Conclusion: The expression of IGFBP-2 protein was positively correlated with invasion,progression of gastric cancer cell,but negatively correlated with peritoneal metastasis of gastric cancer.
