Abstract

By choosing Li Qingzhao’s Ci as its object of study and taking Xu Yuanchong’s translation versions for example, this paper adopts the philosophical problem—solution approach and expounds the feasibility of reproducing the aesthetic values of classical poetry via such means as imitation, empathy, symbolization and personification. The proposal and application of these methods help,on the one hand,to fully reproduce in translation the artistic conceptions of the original works, and to preserve and highlight the floweriness and glory of the Chinese Ci culture,on the other hand.
