Abstract
Q3A is a WA-type indica CMS line with good grain quality and medium resistance to blast in rice.It was developed by crossing Q2B with good grain quality to Yueyezhan 1 with good grain quality and good blast resistance, testcrossing its F_2 plants with Q2A and then backcrossing successively. It is characteristic of complete male sterility, high stigma exsertion and outcrossing rate, low panicle enclosure rate, good combining ability, fine grain quality and medium blast resistance. Its glume is green in early heading stage and becomes black in later stage.Q3A was technically identified in Chongqing in July,2005.Its hybrid Qingyou 108(Q3A×Q Hui 108) is a new medium indica hybrid rice certified by Chongqing Crop Variety Release Committee in March,2006.
