Application of tension-free mesh-plug hernioplasty in inguinal hernia repair

Objective To evaluate the application of tension-free mesh-plug hernioplasty in inguinal hernia repair. Methods The clinical data of 91 patients with inguinal hernia admitted to our hospital from January 2010 to March 2012 were retrospectively analyzed. Tension-free mesh-plug hernioplasty was performed for all the patients. Results Among the 91 patients, only one patient relapsed. Ideal therapeutic effects were achieved in 90 patients, without aggravating the primary disease or causing other complications. Conclusion With the advantages of easy operation, short operative time, little trauma, rapid recovery and mild pain, tension-free mesh-plug hernioplasty has great application value in inguinal hernia repair, which worth spreading in clinical practice.
