Analysis of short-term effects of FOLFOX4 in the treatment of advanced colorectal carcinoma

Abstract

Objective To observe the short-term efficacy and toxicity of FOLFOX4 in treating patients with advanced colorectal carcinoma.Methods Oxaliplatin 85 mg/m2 iv infusion for 2 hours,d1;CF 200 mg/m2 iv infusion for 2 hours followed by 5-Fu 400 mg/m2 iv bolus and 600 mg/m2 iv infusion for 22 hours,d1,2.Every two weeks was a cycle.Patients were evaluated after 3 cycles.Results 39 patients entered this study:CR in 1case,PR in 16 cases,SD in 19 cases.The total response rate was 43.6%,the disease control rate was 92.3%,and the median time to progress was 8 months.The main adverse effects were bone marrow suppression,gastrointestinal toxicity and neurotoxicity.There was no toxicity and adverse effect of grade IV in these patients.Conclusion FOLFOX4 is effective for advanced colorectal carcinoma,and the toxicity is tolerable.
