Clinical observation of FOLFOX_4 proctocol for advanced colorectal cancer

Abstract

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and toxicity of the protocol of FOLFOX4 for advanced colorectal cancer.Methods 30 patients received FOLFOX4[Oxaliplatin 85 mg/m2as a 2-hour infusion on day1 and a 2-hour infusion of LV 200 mg/(m·d)followed by 5-FU bolus 400 mg/(m·d)and 22-hour infusion(600 mg/m· d)for 2 consecutive days every two weeks].Four courses were carried out with an interval of one month.Results 30 patients:CR 1 case(3.3%),PR 10 cases(33.3%),SD 9 cases(30%),PD 10 cases(33.3%).The overall response rate was 36.6%.The major toxicities were neurotoxicity,suppression of bone marrow,gastrointestinal toxicity and most of which Ⅰ-Ⅱ grad.Conclusion The effective of FOLFOX4 which seems beneficial as first-line therapy in advanced colorectal cancer has a high effective rate with acceptable toxicity.
