Abstract

ObjectiveTo study the correlation between expression of P16 and biological behavior in human gastric cancer. MethodsThe expression of P16 in 70 gastric cancer patients were analysed by immunohistochemical staining.ResultsThe positive expression rates of P16 was lower in gastric cancer than that in noncancerous gastric tissues ( p0.05),and the lower level of P16 expression was significantly correlated with tumor stage and lymph node metastasis.ConclusionThe abnormal expression of P16 is related with the poor biological behavior and might be helpful to evaluate the prognosis of gastric cancer.
