Abstract
Objective To investigate the relationship between expression of P27 protein and carcinogenesis, development of hepatocellular carcinoma. Methods The expression of P27 protein was examined by SP Cojugated method in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) and normal individuals, respectively. Results The positive rate of P27 protein expression was 38.3%(23/60) in HCC which showed a significant difference from those normal individuals(P0.05).P27 protein expression might be related to histologic grade and portal vein invasion and metastasis and size of cancle in HCC(P0.05).Conclusions P27 protein might play important suppressor role in the carcinogenesis and devolopment of HCC.HCC with low expression of P27 might easily lead to lymphnode metastasis and portal vein invasion. P27 protein could be a new tumor marker for HCC.
