Wu Rulun and his educational thoughts of lotus-pond(lianchi) academy in Baoding

Wu Rulun,a modern Chinese educator,enjoys a close connection with lotus-pond(lianchi) academy.He initiates the academy,opens lectures of Chinese and western literature,and also strengthens the management.He advocates abolishing of the imperial examination system,introducing Western literature,and setting up schools.When lotus-pond(lianchi) academy is under the reform,he leaves for Japan for further educational investigation.
