GENG Jie and Songyang Academy

As one of the four great academies in Song Dynasty,Song Yang Academy had been passing through rising and declining.In Qing Dynasty,with the efforts of GENG jie,a famous confucian scholar in Dengfeng, the academy became most prosperous again.GENG Jie bought land to extend Songyang Academy and invited many famous teachers to teach in his academy.He combined teaching with academic research, encouraging doubts and discussion among students.He had not only made great contributions to the development of the culture and in Mid China, but also to the training of talents.Some of his teaching methods are still useful to today's education reform.
