Abstract
OBJECTIVE:To investigate the outpatient irrational drug use in our hospital in an attempt to enhance and promote rational drug use.METHODS:A total of 10 800 prescriptions in 2009-2011 in our hospital were collected,from which the irrational prescriptions were selected for analysis.The irrational drug use mainly manifested as irrational drug combination,off-label use,irrational dosage administration and improper use of solvents etc.RESULTS:Of the total 10 800 outpatient prescriptions,752(6.96%) were found to be irrational.CONCLUSION:The irrational outpatient drug use in our hospital was serious.It is advocated to use drugs rationally,strengthen management and pharmacists'guidance on drug use so as to ensure patients'medication safety.
