Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy of phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantationfor glaucoma combined with cataract. Method: 78 cases(102 eyes) with glaucoma combined with cataract in our hospital were randomly divided into control group and observation group. The control group was treated with trabeculectomy. The observation group was treated with phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation. The visual acuity, intraocular pressure and corneal astigmatism before and after surgery and complication rate of the two groups was compared. Result: After surgery, the visual acuity, intraocular pressure and corneal astigmatism of the observation group were significantly better than those of the control group(P0.05). Complication rate of the observation group was 11.8%, which was significantly lower than 33.3% of the control group(P0.05). Conclusion: Phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation for glaucoma combined with cataract is safe and effective. It can control intraocular pressure and improve visual acuity. It's worthy of clinical widely used.
