Abstract

Objective:To investigate the clinical effects of L-carnitine in the treatment of unstable angina pectoris.Methods:Eighty-six patients with unstable angina pectoris were randomly divided into two groups, each group consisted of 43 cases. On the basis of conventional therapy, the patients from experimental group were administered L-carnitine, at the same time, those patients in control group were given GIK (glucose insulin-potasiun solution). Results:The total effective rates of relieved angina pectoris and improved ECG in treatment group were 93.02% and 76.74% respectively, nevertheless, that in control group were 65.12% and 48.84% respectively. There were significant difference between two group(P0.01).Conclusion:Adjunctive therapy with L-carnitine for treating unstable angina pectoris might be safe and effective way, L-carnitine could improve the energy metabolism of the ischemic myocardium.
