The effect of L-carnitine on the aged patients with unstable angina pectoris

【Objective】 To observe the effect of L-carnitine on the aged patients with unstable angina pectoris.【Methods】200 aged patients with unstable angina pectoris were randomLy devided into two groups,each group including 100 patients.The patients of the control group were applied routine treatment.The patients of treatment group were applied routine treatment and L-carnitine injection 2.0 gram combined with physiological salt solution by intravenous drip once a day,the course was 7 days.To observe the total effective rate of clinical symptom and the change of ST-T on ECG,the frequencies of angina,the time of breaking out angina pectoris and the demand of nitroglycerin tablets per week before and after treatment.【Resluts】The frequencies of angina,the angina time and the demand of nitroglycerin tablets of the two groups decreased obviously after treatment,All of them there were meaning of statistics(P 0.05).The change of ST-T on ECG of the treatment group was more obvious than the other group's,there was meaning of statistics(P 0.05).The total effective rate of clinical symptom of the treatment group and the control group were 92% and 82%.There was meaning of statistics(P 0.05).【Conclusion】L-carnitine is effective and safe on the treatment of the patients with unstable angina pectoris.
