Abstract

【Objective】To evaluate the value of serum total bile acid(TBA)in the diagnosis and treatment of neonate jaundice.【Methods】The serum TBA and liver function of 157 jaundice patients(including 65 physiologic jaundice and 92 pathologic jaundice patients) were detected and compared with 103 controls.TBA was detected by the circulation enzyme rate method.【Results】The TBA value was(9.48±5.18) μmol/L in controls,and(8.96±6.42) μmol/L in physiologic jaundice patients, showing no difference(P0.05).While the TBA value in pathologic jaundice patients was(32.51±22.48) μmol/L,showing significant difference compared with the controls and the physiologic jaundice patients(P0.01).The TBA value in pathologic jaundice patients showed positively correlated with DBIL,ALT, AST,ALP and GGT.【Conclusion】The serum TBA detecting in diagnosis of neonate jaundice shows preferable specificity and susceptivity, which can be used as basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment.
