Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of calcium channel blockers(CCB)verapamil on lung injury of rats with sever acute pancreatitis(SAP).Methods 45 Wistar rats were randomly divided into group A(sham-operative group),group B(SAP group)and group C(SAP treated with verapamil). The contents of interleukin-1(IL-1),interleukin-6(IL-6)and tumer necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)in serum were measured and the pathology alteration of lung were observed. Results In group B the levels of serum IL-1,IL-6 and TNF-α increased significantly as compared to those in group A(P0.01)and the pathologic damage of lung was severe. In group C,the levels of serum IL-1,IL-6,TNF-α were remarkably lower than those in group B(P0.05),and the severity of lung injury was dramatically reduced(P0.05).Conclusion During the course of SAP,verapamil could reduce the contents of IL-1,IL-6,TNF-α and has beneficial effect on lung injury.
