Abstract
Objective To analyze the characteristics of the incidence and epidemic trends of pulmonary tuberculosis in Xuancheng City in 1999~2008 and to provide basis for making strategies and control programs of the disease. Methods The Data from National Notifiable Dideasea Registry System(NNDRS) and reports of annual work 1999~2008 were analyzed. Results The average incidence rate of pulmonary tuberculosis in 1999-2008 was 71.91/105,Average fatality rate was 0.22/105.Male incidence rate was 2.78 times than female incidence rate. The average incidence rate was the highest in 70~74 age group which was 305.79/105.Farmers accounted for 74.56% of the total number of incidence. Conclusions The farmers and the elderly were the focus-populations of TB prophylaxis and treatment.High-quality implementation of DOTS strategy was the key to control tuberculosis in our city.
