Abstract

OBJECTIVE To compare the therapeutic effects and safety of continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion by insulin pump(CSII) and multiple subcutaneous insulin injection(MSII) in treatment of type 2 diabetes.METHODS Totally 76 cases of diabetes were assigned into two groups,CSII group(n=41) and MSII group(n=35).The differences in blood glucose control time, insulin dosage and the rate of hypoglycemic episodes were compared in the two groups.RESULTS The time for well controlled blood glucose levels in 2 groups were(10.6±4.9) d and(14.0±6.1) d respectively. The rate of hypoglycemic episode of 2 groups were 9.8% and 20.0%,respectively.CONCLUSION CSII could shorten the duration of insulin treatment, lower 2 hour postprandial blood sugar(PBS2) and reduce insulin dosage, and the hypoglycemic episodes rate was not increased.
