Abstract
Objective To research the effect of vitamin B 2 in corneal burn by alkali in rabbits.Method Copy the model of alkali burn in right eye cornea while the left eyes as normal control group. The model rabbits were divided into two groups treated with injection of vitamin B 2 and normalsaline from conjunctivite respectively, then the MDA level and SOD activity were measured. Results On the 4th,8th,and 32nd days after the burning, the MDA level of experimental group was markedly lower than that of burned group. And SOD activity of experimental group was also remarkably higher than that of burned group. Conclusion Vitamin B 2 has marked effects against corneal alkali burn, associated with its anti-lipid peroxidation actions.
