ANALYSIS OF COMMUNITY RESIDENT'S REQUIREMENT OF HEALTH SERVICE AND PRESENTS CONDITIONS OF TWO-WAY REFERRAL IN WUHOU, CHENGDU.

Objective: To understand the residents' requirement of health service and the present conditions of Two-way Referral in Wuhou, Chengdu, and provide scientific foundations for establishment and development of the Two-way Referral. Methods: 450 community residents in Wuhou were selected by stratified random sampling and investigated through questionnaire. Results: Most of community residents went to big hospitals firstly when they suffered from an illness, because they trusted the big hospitals' skill-level. They knew little about the centre of community health service. A lot of residents even didn't hear about the Two-way Referral. In fact, the actualities of the Two-way Referral were serious and had many questions. Conclusion:In order to carry out the Two-way Referral, suggestions are made as following: align the functions of big hospitals, middle hospitals and the center of community health service, strengthen the basic medical insurance's support to the center of community health service, heighten the service quality of the center of community health service, and enlarge the dissemination and education for Two-way Referral.
