Clinical observation of the effect of Zhuanggu Shenjin Formula on ankylosing spondylitis

Objective:To observe the effect of Zhuanggu Shenjin Formula on ankylosing spondylitis.Methods:Sixtyfour patients with ankylosing spondylitis were randomly divided into the treatment group and control group,thirty-two cases per each group.The control group took diclofenac sodium sustained-release tablets by oral,and the treatment group took Zhuanggu Shenjin Formula combined with diclofenac sodium sustained-release tablets.After 8 weeks,the indicators were analyzed to compare the changes before and after treatment.Results:The total effective rate of the control group was 75.0%,while that of the treatment group was 90.6%.The total effective rate of the treatment group was superior to that of the control group(P0.05).After the treatment,the main clinical symptoms and signs,include pain,change in thoracic activity,spinal activity,finger tips distance and schober test,in the treatment group and control group were significantly improved(P0.05),and the treatment group was better than the control group(P0.05).Conclusion:Zhuanggu Shenjin Formula could significantly improve the symptoms and signs of ankylosinq spondylitis,which would lay a favorable foundation for developing new drugs for the ankylosinq spondylitis.
