Effects of Taohe Chengqi Decoction on Glycose and Lipid Metabolism in Diabetic Rats Induced by STZ

[Objective] To study the effect of Taohe Chengqi Decoction on glucose,insulin and lipid metabolism in diabetic rats induced by STZ. [Method] Successful rat with diabetes model was established by STZ injection through caudal vein. Selected SD rats were randomly divided into two groups as diabetes group and treatment group. Control group was set up. Treatment group were orally administered by Taohe Chengqi Decoction 10 ml / kg·d( with 1 g raw medicine per millilitre) for 56 days. At the 14th,28th,42th and 56th day,Glu,TG,TC, LDL-C and HDL-C was measured in serum. At the 56th day,insulin was measured. [Result]Taohe Chengqi Decoction reduced the contents of blood glucose,TG,TC,LDL-C,the HDL-C level of treatment group showed significantly increased than diabetes group,the insulin level showed no significant differences in each group. [Conclusion] Taohe Chengqi Decoction can lower blood glucose and improve lipid metabolism,which may play therapeutic role in diabetic rats.
