Abstract

To explore the clinical effect and safety of schizophrenia treatment with Quetiapine,210 Schizophrenia patients were randomly divided into two groups and they were separately given Quetiapine and Risperidone for treatment for 8 weeks. The positive and negative symptoms scales(PANSS) and the adverse reactions scale(TESS) were used to assess the efficacy and the adverse reactions. The total effectiveness of treatment group with Quetiapine was 82.08%,and the Risperidone treatment group was 82.69%,the difference of the two groups was statistically significant(P0.05).However,the adverse reactions of the Quetiapine group are slightly lower than the Risperidone group(P0.05).The clinical effect of starting treatment of schizophrenia with Quetiapine and Risperidone is equal, and the treatment with Quetiapine has less adverse reactions.
