Abstract

Objective:To investigate the clinical efficacy and adverse reaction of quetiapine in the treatment of schizophrenia. Methods:60 patients corresponding to CCMD-3 criteria were randomly divided into two groups, which were treated with quetiapine(quetiapine group)or risperidone(risperidone group) for 8 weeks. The positive and Negative symptom scale(PANSS)and treatment emergent symptom scale (TESS) were used to evaluate the clinical efficacy and adverse reaction before and 2、4、6、8 weeks after treatment respectively. Results:The therapeutic efficacy in quetiapine group was similar to that in risperidone group(P0.05);there was no significant difference in clear effective rate between the two groups(P0.05). Conclusion:The results suggest that quetiapine is as effective as risperidone for the treatment of schizophrenia, but their adverse reactions are different.
