Abstract
[Objective]To investigate the formaldehyde pollution in the air of newly decorated houses and explore the influencing factors.[Methods]Choosing several new residential areas in Wuhan City and 100 houses which were decorated within 1 year were selected.Portable formaldehyde analyzer was used to measure the concentration of indoor formaldehyde.Meanwhile,the questionnaire was carried out for the decoration and use investigation.[Results] In 100 houses,different types of rooms had different formaldehyde concentration,the formaldehyde concentration exceeding rate in order from high to low were master bedroom,study room,guest bedroom and living room.Formaldehyde concentration in wardrobe was significantly higher than that of other rooms(P0.01).Formaldehyde concentration was different at different time after decoration,and the difference was significant(P0.05).Different ventilation situation of rooms affected the air formaldehyde concentration.Average air formaldehyde concentration of room with regular ventilation was significantly lower than that of room with occasional ventilation(P0.01).[Conclusion]The formaldehyde pollution in most new houses of this city is serious,and the main influencing factors of indoor formaldehyde concentration include degree of decoration,the time after the decoration and ventilation situation.
