Abstract
This paper is aimed to investigate formaldehyde pollution in indoor air of decoration and its influencing factors.Taking 73 newly decorated apartments(included furniture) as the study example and 11 roughcast apartments as the contrast, acetylacetone spectrophotometr method is applied to measure the concentration of formaldehyde. The air in the newly decorated apartment exceeds the standard 61.4% and the average concentration of formaldehyde(0.760 mg/m3)in furniture is remarkably higher(0.102 mg/m3)than that in air;It is shown that the concentration of formaldehyde and exceeding rate is decreased with the time passed, especially after three months;in one week after the decoration, the formaldehyde exceeds the standard 100% in indoor air of complex decoration, higher 20% than that in simple decoration;the concentration of formaldehyde gradually rises with the increase of indoor temperature and humidity. The formaldehyde pollution in newly decorated apartment is greatly serious and furniture is one of the main pollution sources. The factors affecting the concentration of formaldehyde mainly include the quality and quantity of the decoration materials, time after decoration and indoor temperature and relative humidity.Keeping ventilation is beneficial to the diffusion of formaldehyde and can effectively reduce formaldehyde pollution.
