Abstract
Objective To know the environment situation in the indoor air in newly decorated rooms in Wuhan region. Methods 3-Methyl-2-benzothiazoline hydrazone hydrochloride(MBTH) spectrophotometric method was used to determine the concentration of formaldehyde in the indoor air in 241 newly decorated flats.Twinkling radiometer was used to determine the radiation level of γ in the indoor air. Emanometer was used to determine radon in the indoor air.The equipment for detecting VOC was used to determine benzne in the indoor air. Results 1 098 samples of the radiation level of γ and 241 samples of radon and 41 samples of benzne in the indoor air in 241 newly decorated flats were determined, and the qualified rate was 100%.816 samples of formaldehyde were determined, and the qualified rate was 34%.Conclusion The indoor air pollution by formaldehyde in newly decorated rooms is severe.Ventilation should be strengthened in newly decorated flats. The harm to health caused by formaldehyde can be reduced by flowering plants.
