Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical effect of nifedipine combined with irbesartan in treatment of diabetes mellitus patients with hypertension. Methods 130 diabetes mellitus patients with hypertension admitted to our hospital from April 2012 to February 2013 were randomly divided into the combination group and the general group, with 65 cases in each group. The general group was given nifedipine treatment, while the combination group was given irbesar- tan and nifedipine treatment. The blood pressure, blood glucose, renal function and the total effective rate of the two groups were compared. Results The blood pressure control situation of the combination group was significantly better than that in the general group(P0.05). The total effective rate in the combination group(96.9%) was significantly higher than that in the general group(64.6%)(P0.05). Conclusion Therapeutic effect of nifedipine combined with irbesartan for diabetes mellitus patients with hypertension is remarkable, can effectively control blood pressure, improve life quality, and reduce the complications, should be applied in clinic.
