Abstract
Objective To observe the relevance between blood pressure variability and early renal dysfunction in old patients with essential hypertension.Methods Sixty-one old patients were divided into group A and group B based on the variability of 24 h systolic blood pressure(The blood pressure variability of group A was lower than group B).24 h systolic blood pressure,serum Cys-C and renal function determination were recorded.Results There were significant differences in blood pressure variability(P0.05) and Cys-C level(P0.01) between two groups;however,no differences were found in the levels of serum creatinine and BUN between two groups(P0.05).Conclusion Blood pressure variability is closely related to early hypertensive renal injury in old patients with essential hypertension.
