Abstract
Aim:To study the chemical constituents of Senecio argunensis Turcz..Methods:Compounds were isolated with column chromatographic techniques,and their structures were determined by spectral analysis and/or comparison to the known compounds. Results:Eleven compounds were isolated and identified as:8,8″-methylenebis(3,3′,4′,5,7- pentahydroxyflavone) (1),isorhamnetin (2),senkirkine (3),succinic acid (4) and β-daucosterol (5),as well as quercetin,hyperoside,quercetin-5-O-β-D-glucoside,senecionine,seneciphylline and β-sitosterol. Conclusion: Compound 1, named as 8,8″-methylene-bisquercetin,is a new compound,and compounds 2~5 are isolated from the plant for the first time.
