Evaluation and analysis of regional economic development level difference in Shaanxi Province

Nowadays,there is a wide gap on the level of socio-economic development across regions in China,and the imbalance in economic development is a common phenomenon among regions of China.Although the imbalance in economic development caused by the regional economic development gap is inevitable,and its existence has a reasonable side,but their expansion is bound to affect the sustainable development of China's Social economy.This paper takes the 11 cities(districts) of Shaanxi Province as an example to analyze and evaluate the differences in the level of regional economic development.Firstly,based on the indicators selected principles about the level of regional economic development,combined with the connotation of regional economic development and the actual situation in Shaanxi Province,the paper selects appraisal indicators scientifically and reasonably.With Turle Philippines method,this paper determinates appraisal index weight,sets up an appraisal index system which can reflects the economic development level of the 11 cities(districts) of Shaanxi Province,and calculates the index of regional economic level of development in each appraisal unit grounding on multi-index synthesis reckoning in 2003,2005 and 2007.On the basis of the composite index,the paper ranks comprehensive development level of each city.The higher the composite index,the better the city's economic development,and the difference of the composite index illustrates how greater the differences of regional economic development is.In addition,this paper gives both a vertical and horizontal comparison of 11 cities(districts) in Shaanxi Province,analyzes the problems of regional development as well as the reasons for the difference of regional economic development.Finally,in view of the appraisal result and issues existed in regional economic development of Shaanxi,the paper puts forward measures to narrow the gap and coordinate the regional economic development.It is of great importance to promote regional economic development and coordinate sustainable development in Shaanxi Province.
