Abstract
In the current study,a kind of mature seeds of kentucky bluegrass(Poa pratensis L.) named 'Midnight' was used as the explants to compare different concentrations on callus induction of bluegrass, where the MS as the basic culture medium. The data suggest that mature seeds is the best explants due to their higher rate and quality of the callus compare with those from the leaves;MS+2,4-D(2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid),5.0 mg/L seems to be the best suitable culture medium for the mature seeds as the callus induction rate was 50%,and dry-faced granulated callus colored yellow green in the following generation of culture medium.Additionally,MS+2,4-D(2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid),5.0 mg/L was suggested to be most suitable for leaves with a callus induction rate at 34%,although there were some washy callus was observed in herein study.
