Abstract
Objective To make a cytogenetics study of clinically diagnosed male infertility, and to study the relations between abnormal chromosome and male infertility. Methods Chromosomal preparations made from peripheral blood lymphocytes by conventional,G and C banding techniques in all cases and additionally by silver staining(Ag Nor)in some cases. Results 408 cases of male infertility were studied in cytogenetics.Forty three cases in this study showed chromosomal abnormalities. Most of them were Klinefelter syndrome(47,XXY)and four cases were special karyotypes. Conclusion Chromosomal abnormalities, especially structural and numeral abnormalities of sexual chromosome, are important cause of male infertility.
