Abstract
As a meaning-focused teaching method, task-based language pedagogy is an effective way to cultivate students' comprehensive competence to use English, which aims at fulfilling language communicative tasks. The application of task -based language pedagogy in English teaching in higher vocational education is an ideal alternative to serve the aim of talent cultivation. This paper mainly explores the penetration of task-based teaching concept in English language teaching and the feasibility and the design principles of task-based English teaching in higher vocational colleges.
