Abstract

Objective To analyze the antibiotic resistance of staphylococcus aureus and provide evidence for clinical treatment in our hospital. Methods The results of clinical culture were identified by API bacteria analysis system. The antibiotic resistance of 84 strains of staphylococcus aureus were determined by Kirby-Bauer agar diffusion. Results 69 strains of MRSA were detected from 84 strains of staphylococcus aureus. The resistance rates of MRSA to other antibiotics were lower than 30% except for Penicillin(80%) and Tetracycline(55%). The resistance rates of MSSA to other antibiotics were higher than 90% except for Rifampin(4%),Trimethopin/sulfa(37%) and Minocycline(52%). The resistance rates of MRSA were much higher than MSSA except for Vanconycin and Rifampin. Conclusion The resistance rates of MRSA strains to most antibiotics were higher. Most of the MRSA strains were multi-drug resistant. We should strengthen the surveillance of MRSA in clinical microbiology laboratory.
