Abstract
A method of synthesizing dimethyl phthalate from phthalic anhydride and methanol was developed using ferric sulphate hydrate as catalyst.The influence factors such as kinds and amount of catalysts,reaction time,reaction temperature and so on were studied.The results show:mole ratio of phthalic anhydride to methanol is 1∶3,the amount of the catalyst is 4% of the total mass of reactants,reaction temperature is 90~100℃,reaction time is 5 h,the yield of the product is over 89%.
