On Land Expropriation and Guaranty of Peasants' Rights and Interests

Land expropriation is a system in which land is expropriated by the government who in turn compensates the landowners.Being compulsory,land expropriation is of the public interest and has to undergo specific procedures.Meanwhile,the landowners receive compensation and remedies.As land belongs to the nation in China and is collectively owned,land expropriation in the countryside in the process of city development and land exploitation has great impact on peasants' rights and interests.Therefore,land expropriation system in our country must be improved by learning from foreign countries so that peasants' rights and interests can be more effectively protected.
