A PRIMARILY REPORT ON BLACKFLIES IN GUANGXI,CHINA (DIPTERA:SIMULIIDAE)

Objective: To investigate the basic fauna and geographical distribution of blackflies in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Methods: Immature stages of blackflies were collected from six different representative areas of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region with conventional methods, and were reared in the lab to produce adults. After the identification of the slide and needle-fixed specimens, a list of blackfly species in Guangxi and a discussion were given. Result: 22 species including 3 new ones of blackflies from Guangxi of China were reported. Conclusion: There is a rich diversity of blackflies in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and it is showed that there is a fauna character of oriental realm.
