Relationship between levels of serum CA153 and CEA in patients with lung cancer

Abstract

Objective To study the levels of serum CA153 in patients with lung cancer and its significance.Methods Levels of serum CA153 and CEA were detected in patients with lung cancer(n=31) and 30 normal controls by radioimmunoassay.Results Levels of serum CA153 and CEA in patients with lung cancer were significantly higher than those in normal controls(P0.01).Three months after operation there was no significance(P0.05).Conclusion The detection of serum CA153 and CEA levels may be of help to judge the severity of the lung diseases and evaluate the patient’s prognosis and thus may possess an important clinical value.
