Clinical study of integrated traditional and western medicine on early diabetic nephropathy

Objective It is to observe the therapeutic effect of Xiaoke Baoshen Decoction(XBD) combined with Benazepril on early diabetic nephropathy(EDN).Methods 78 patients of EDN were divided into three groups randomly,with 26 patients in each group,and the blood glucose levels of all patients were controlled through giving insulin by subcutaneous injection on the base treatment above,patients in Group A were added with Benazepril,Group B with XBD and Benazepril,Group C with XBD respectively.The course of treatment for all was 8 weeks.The related indices of EDN before and after treatment were measured and compared.Results After treatment,the levels of 24 hours urinary albumin excretion rate(UAER) significantly decreased in 3 groups T and the decrement in Group B was more significant than that in the other two groups.The levels of FPG,2h-PG and HbA1c significantly decreased in all groups;the blood pressure significantly lowered after treatment in Group A and B,but unchanged in Group C.Conclusion XBD combined with Benazepril can not only decrease blood pressure,blood glucose and HbA1c,but also significantly decrease the UAER in treating EDN,with better efficacy than Chinese medicine or Western medicine alone.
