Abstract

Cytochrome P450(CYP) 2C9 is an essential human liver enzyme for drug metabolism, and plays and important role in many endogenous and exogenous substances metabolism, including 10% of clinical medicine.CYP2C9 has a high genetic polymorphism,so far 30 alleles have been identified.Mutations in genes may alter the activity of CYP2C9,leading to the change of metabolism rate and elimination rate of related drugs and the increasing the risk of drug adverse effects or toxicity. This article reviews the genetic polymorphism of CYP2C9 and its effect on drug metabolism, and summarizes the research advances of related individualized treatment.
