Abstract
CYP2C9 and CYP2C19 enzymes are important drug-metabolizing enzymes involving in the metabolism of a variety of drugs in vivo. CYP2C9 and CYP2C19 genes are highly polymorphic. There are many mutations at the genetic coding and non-coding area. Functional mutations may alter the activity and elimination rate of substance drugs which might lead to drug adverse effects or toxicity. The CYP2C9, CYP2C19 gene mutation frequency and their impact on drug metabolism were reviewed.
