Clinical Observation of Decoction for Clearing Liver on Severe Hepatitis

Abstract
To observe the curative effect of Decoction for Clearing Liver on severe hepatitis. Method: 60 cases were divided into two groups randomly. They were all treated by routine western medicine treatment. But the ones in treatment group were treated by Decoction for Clearing Liver besides the above treating. The treatment course included 1 month. Result: In treatment group 18 cases were excellent,10 cases were effective,4 cases were ineffective or dead,and the total effective rate was 87.50% (95%CI=71.0%-96.5%). In control group 9 cases were excellent,8 cases were effective,11 cases were ineffective or dead,and the total effective rate was 60.71% (95%CI=42.6%-79.4%). There was significant difference between the two groups (u=2.196 7,P=0.021 7). Conclusion: The curative effect of Decoction for Clearing Liver is better than that of only routine western medical treatment on severe hepatitis,OR=0.22 (95%CI=0.06-0.80),NNT=4 (95%CI=2.05-24.44).
