Report of 23 cases of ureterocele treated by trans-urethral resection.

Objective To explore the methods for diagnosis and treatment of ureterocele. Methods The clinical data of ureterocele patients between 1994～2004 were reviewed. Ultrasonograph, IVU, CT or cystoscopy were used before operation and endoscopic incision in all cases. Results Ultrasonograph in combination with IVU can enhance the final diagnosis rate. The correct rate for diagnosis of cystoscopy was 100%. All patients were followed up for a duration of 1～10 years with good results. Conclusion Ultrasonograph in combination with IVU is effective and necessary for diagnosis of ureterocele. Trans-urethral resection is the choice for treatment of patients with ureterocele.
