Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the changes of the inflammatory factors during severe acute pancreatitis (SAP) including tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-α),interleukin-8(IL-8),interleukin-6(IL-6) and C reactive protein(CRP),and at the same time to investigate their diagnostic value for SAP predication. Methods: Fifteen cases of SAP patients and 30 cases of normal acute pancreatitis(AP) were diagnosed in the People's Hospital of Xinjiang Uigur Autonomous Region between November 2007 to April 2008 were enrolled in this study, and another 20 healthy volunteers were set as normal controls.5 ml venous blood was extracted in each subject both pre and post treatment respectively, and serum was separated for TNF-α, IL-8,IL-6 and CRP determination.Results:TNF-α,IL-8,IL-6 and CRP were significantly increased in SAP patients than in AP patients and in healthy controls before treatment(P0.05),but there was no significant differences exsist between pre treatment and post treatment in SAP patients(P0.05).Conclusions: IL-6 and CRP probably will predict the prognosis and the severity of patients with SAP,and at the same time may do some help for judgement of SAP treatment. But TNF-αand IL-8 will be fourthly tested both in its illness predication and treatment evaluation.
