Clinical significance of exoression of bFGF in thyroid carcinoma

Abstract

Objective To study the clinical significance of expression of bFGF in thyroid carcinoma.Methods Immunohistochemical SP technic was used to determined the ex-pression of bFGF in 104 cases thyroid carcinoma, 10 cases normal thyroid tissues.Results The positive rate of bFGF in thyroid carcinoma was significantly higher than in normal thyroid control group; The positive rate of bFGF in undifferentiated carcinoma was markedly higher than in papillary carcinoma; The positive rate of bFGF in thyroid carcinoma with metastasis was higher than that without metastasis.Conclusion The expression of bFGF is correlated with pathologic tissue type and the invasion and metastasis of tumor. These dates suggest that positive expression of bFGF is signification in predicting the potential cell mitastasis.
