The Effect of High Blood Glucose on Cerebral Stroke

Objective To investigate the influence of high blood glucose on cerebral stroke.Methods To examine the fasting blood glucose for 200 cerebral stroke patients in the acute stage(after the onset within 24 hours).They were divided into two groups:high blood glucose group and normal blood glucose group.Nidus quality,size and location of patients with high blood glucose were recorded according to CT and MRI.Results There were significant differences of the scores of neural function damage between the two groups patients(P0.05);the difference of the remedy effect in the two groups was remarkable(P0.05);the prognosis of the normal blood glucose group in the acute stage was better than that of the high blood glucose group,the difference was remarkable(P0.05);the level of blood glucose in cerebral hemorrhage group,large size nidus was higher than that in cerebral infarction group,small size nidus group,the difference was very remarkable(P0.01);the difference of blood glucose level among different locations of high blood glucose group patients was remarkable(P0.05).Conclusion The increasing level of blood glucose is apparent in cerebral hemorrhage,large size nidus,near the midline brain compared with cerebral infarction,small size nidus,far away from midline of brain;the blood glucose can be used as one of index to appraise condition of acute cerebral stroke.High blood glucose can aggravate cerebral stroke,so advist to avoide all kinds of factors that cause blood glucose to increase.
