Abstract

Objective To analyse genetic correlation of Salmonella typhimurium strains isolated from a food poisoning accident, and find out the effective measures to control pathogenic transmission.Method Thirty-three Salmonella typhimurium strains including a strain from cook isolated from a food poisdning accident were digested by restriction endonuclease Xba I and their restriction endonuclease maps obtained after pulse field gel electrophoresis(PFGE).were analysed. Results There were 13 strips in every restriction map after PFGE.And the restriction maps from 33 Salmonella typhimurium strains were completely identical. Conclusion Experimental results show that there is only one molecular type in all isolates. Therefore,we think that the cook is closely related with this food poisoning accident.and PFGE can be applied to the source-tracking of Salmonella typhimurium.strains.
